Machinability: Good machinability (~75% of C36000 baseline). Mixed ferritic-pearlitic structure delivers smooth finishes and moderate tool life.
Weldability: Difficult to weld. Preheat to 250°C and use nickel-iron (ENiFe-CI) electrodes with controlled interpass temperatures.
Formability / Cold Working: Limited localized deformation only.
Heat Treatment & Annealing: Typically used as-cast. Normalizing from 900°C increases pearlite and strength.
Machinability: Moderate machinability (~65% of C36000 baseline). Predominantly pearlitic structure requires rigid setups and carbide tooling.
Weldability: Difficult to weld. High risk of martensite formation in the heat-affected zone; requires 300°C preheat and nickel-iron filler wire.
Formability / Cold Working: Non-deformable.
Heat Treatment & Annealing: Typically utilized as-cast or normalized from 900°C.
